Note

Arin Miller argues that Don Elgin's criticism as it relates to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings treads the right path, but seems at times extremist and insufficiently broad as it evaluates the environmental ethos of fantasy literature. Arin Miller is a graduate student in the MFA in Creative Writing Program in the Department of English at FAU, and holds a J.D. from the University of Florida (2001) and a B.A. from Tulane University. This paper was presented at the Comparative Studies Association 2008 Conference: Interdisciplinarity and Environmental Sustainability.
