A US District Court of Richmond, Virginia bail bond of Mr. Jefferson Davis dated May 13, 1867 in which Davis acknowledges his debt owed to the United States of America in the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars. Also the debts of Gerrit Smith, Horace Greely, Cornelius Vanderbilt, Augustus Schell, Horace F. Clark, A. Welch, David K. Jackman, William H. MacFarland, R. B. Hascall, Issac Davenport Jr., Abraham Warrick, Gustaves A. Myers, William. W. Crump, James Lyons, John A. Meredith, William H. Lyons, John Minor Botts, James Thomas, Jr., Thomas R. Price, William Allen, Benjamin Wood, Thomas W. Boswell, owing the US government five thousand dollars.
