Etchings depict graphic scenes related to the war with each sketch part of a set of 30 from a book titled Sketches from the Civil War in North America, 1861, ’62, ’63 / by V. Blada. Adalbert J. Volck went under the pseudynom of V. Blada. The Battle in Baltimore, April 19th, 1861, is a sketch of Confederate sympathizers attacking Union soldiers as they change trains in Baltimore, Maryland.
