The goal of this project was to: (I) document the presence or absence of chlorinated pesticide residues within the marsh substrate of 18 St. Lucie County mosquito control impoundments along the Indian River Lagoon (IRL), (Figure 1); (2) document the mobility of these pesticides into the IRL under contrasting marsh management techniques (we11-flushed vs. poorly flushed), and (3) document the effect of standard impoundment management techniques on Indian River water quality.
