Note
Intensive interdisciplinary research programs conducted in unmanaged and managed subtropical mangrove marsh ecosystems of the Indian River lagoon in Florida since 1979 have produced information on temporal and spatial patterns of fish, macrocrustacean and avian use of these habitats. Diel samples taken on biweekly intervals have revealed long-term seasonal and annual cyclic patterns, as well as short term diurnal-nocturnal and tidal behavior patterns.
