A new species of Halistemma (Siphonophora: Physonectae: Agalmidae) collected bysubmersible

A new species of physonect siphonophore, Halistemma transliratum sp. nov., isdescribed from two specimens collected at mesopelagic depths in Bahamian waters by thesubmersibles 'Johnson-Sea-Link' I and II, and comparisons are made with theestablished species of that genus.
