Note
Fifty excursions were made over the central eastern Florida continental shelf and slope between 26°30'N and 28°30'N with the Johnson Sea-Link research submersibles. Twelve east-west transects were traversed within the depth range, 30 to 305 m, on which visual observations, hydrographic measurements, and benthic photographs were taken. The distribution of large epibenthonts identifiable from photographs and visual sightings (megafauna) is described and correlated with sediment type, temperature and current.
