Note
To investigate the possibility of holding conchs at high densities a study was conducted at Florida Institute of Technology from April to May 1980 to measure growth and observe conch behavior under crowded conditions. In a separate experiment, conducted at the Bermuda Biological Station, algal preferences were determined for queen and milk conchs. When areas are chosen for conch reseeding the presence and abundance of palatable algae should be taken into account to ensure adequate food supply for the conchs released.
