Note

This report describes the permitting process in which federal, state, and local permitting agencies accepted a Rotational Impoundment Management (RIM) plan as mitigation for wetlands impacted during development of a riverfront subdivision at Indian River Impoundment #6 (Pine Island, 129.5 ha [320 ac]). Impoundment #6 was seasonally re-integrated to the Indian River lagoon through culverts installed in the dike and water levels were carefully controlled with a permanent, electric pump.
