The purpose of this paper is to review the literature on the scyphomedusae and cubomedusae from the eastern Pacific. Forty-three species of scyphomedusae are known from Alaska to Chile. Cubomedusae are represented only by Carybdea marsupialis from the coast of southern California. Ten species ofstauromedusae are known from this area, most occur in shallow, subarctic and temperate waters of the North Pacific; Haliclystus octoradiatus is the most common. Fourteen species of coronate medusae and one polyp (Stephanoscyphus sp.) have been reported, most are mesopelagic and many are widely distributed. Thirteen species of semaeostomes are known from the eastern Pacific, most are neritic.
