Description
This interview focuses on Mr. Moe Stern’s life story. Born in 1926 Czechoslovakia to a Jewish family, Mr. Stern had a peaceful and loving childhood. At the onset of World War II, his family was relocated to a Jewish ghetto and within weeks of that move his family was sent to Auschwitz—Mr. Stern was twelve years old. After six years at Auschwitz, Mr. Stern was sent to Mauthausen, Gusen, and Gunskirchen. After liberation by the American forces, Mr. Stern returned home and discovered that he was the only survivor from his immediate family. The interview later discusses the healing process and life in the United States.
