Note

Snapping shrimps of the genus Alpheus are a common and colorful component in the tropical and subtropical waters of the Florida peninsula. Until recently, however, no systematic survey of this genus as it occurred in Floridan waters had been undertaken. During the course of such n survey in south Florida in 1970, one of us, (GYH) collected specimens of a form which was recognized as being undescribed.
