Studies on fouling invertebrates in the Indian River, Florida 2: effect of Modulus modulus (Prosobranchia: Modulidae)

The buildup of fouling invertebrates on tiles placed among seasgrass blades is considerably less than on tiles placed in adjacent areas devoid of seagrass. Snail counts and the results of caging experiments suggest that the grazing action of Modulus modulus may retard the buildup of fouling organisms on surfaces within the grass beds.
