Description
The purpose of this study is to determine if professional life insurance
agents are homogeneous in their perceived values for joining and remaining
affiliated with their professional association. Comparisons have been
made of the values given twenty reasons normally considered important in
influencing individuals to join or remain in an association. Comparisons
are made of the obtained values from different groups: ordinary agents
compared to combination agents, urban agents compared to rural agents, the
effect of serving on the board of directors of a local or state association
as compared to not serving. A comparison of the effect that an agent's
age, number of years that he is a member of the association, and the number
of years that he is in the insurance business has on his perceived
value for joining or remaining in the association. These comparisons were
made at the state and local association level.
