Description
Mr. Dzafer Malagic describes his early childhood education and everyday life in the former Yugoslavia during Josip Broz Tito’s regime. In 1984, while working during the 1984 Winter Olympics, he was offered a job in the U.S. Mr. Malagic moved his wife and young son to the U.S.—it was supposed to be for eight months. However, the company folded and the young family did not return home to Yugoslavia because the country was in turmoil. This interview offers insight about the multiple religions of the country prior to the breakup of Yugoslavia. Mr. Malagic currently works at the Riviera Beach Water Treatment Plant as an engineer.
