Note
Laboratory experiments showed that the number of amphipods consumed by juvenile pinfish Lagodon rhomboides (Linnaeus) decreased significantly with increasing seagrass biomass, but differences occurred among various macrophyte species. Consistently, Halodule wrightii Aschers, provided the least protection for amphipods from prédation by pinfish, while equivalent standing crops of Syringodiumfiliforme Kütz provided the most protection.
