Two 3,6-epidioxy fatty acids, manadic acids A (8) and B (9), have been isolated from an undescribed species of a sponge, Plakortis sp., collected in Indonesia. Their structures and absolute configurations have been determined. Both compounds are moderately active against various antitumor cell lines.
