Dorothy E. McBride Stetson, PhD, was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the Foundation Nationale des Sciences Politiques in Paris and a co-director of the Research network on Gender Politics and the State. She was a pioneer in offering one of the first courses in Women's Studies at FAU. She was prolifically published in her field and edited the books series Women and Politics in Democratic States. Upon her retirement in 2005 she was named Professor Emeritus of Political Science. During most of her career at FAU, she was known as Dorothy McBride Stetson.
