Note

Six species of seagrasses are reported for the Indian River lagoon, including Thalassia testudinum, Halodule wrightii, Syringodium filiforme, Ruppia maritima, Halophila engelmannii, and Halophila johnsonii. Halophila decipiens occurs on the adjacent continental shelf at about 20m depth. Previous reports of Halophila baillonis from the Indian River are found to be in error. The systematic position of Halodule and Halophila species in this area is discussed.
