Notes: "This oration against standing armies was delivered at Watertown during the siege of Boston, and is said to be the rarest of all the separate issues of the Boston massacre orations. Its popularity was so great that it was frequently reprinted."--Church catalogue, vol. 5, page 2258. On page [4]: "At a meeting of the Freeholders and other inhabitants of the town of Boston, legally assembled at Watertown, March 5th, 1776... Attest. William Cooper, town-clerk."
