Description
This thesis is a study of the profiles of chief
executives of motor truck and bus companies and allied industry
companies who are members of their state association,
the Texas Motor Transportation Association, Inc. The profiles
were obtained from questionnaires received from 250
responding member chief executives out of the total membership
of 921. From what was learned in a review of the questionnaires,
characteristics were determined for each discipline
of operation and for the entire association leadership.
These indicated the makeup of the leadership, their interest
areas in the association, and what they perceived to be the
future needs of the industry.
The conclusion emerged that such a profile can be an
appropriate management tool for both the association and the
individual members of the association.
