An abridgement of a pamphlet by Pownall, published anonymously, London, 1780, under title, "A memorial, most humbly addressed to the sovereigns of Europe, on the present state of affairs, between the Old and New world." The abridgement and translation were made by or at the request of John Adams, while in Holland, and the pamphlet first printed at Leyden by J. Luzac in 1780. cf. The Works of John Adams, v. 7, 1852, p. 248, 332. There is another version with xviii, 52 pages.
