Description
The subject invention provides materials and methods useful
in safely and effectively preventing pathological proliferation
of blood vessels. The prevention of the over-proliferation of
blood vessels according to the subject invention is particularly
advantageous for treatment of certain ocular conditions
including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinopathy
of prematurity (ROP) and diabetic retinopathy. In
preferred embodiments, the subject invention provides materials
and methods for effective treatment of pathological ocular
neovascularization using gene therapy. In a specific
embodiment the materials and methods of the subject invention
can be used to treat AMD.

Description
A system for authenticating access to a data processing
device or database is provided. The system includes a
comparison module for comparing an attempt identifier with
an account identifier, and a state-determining module for
determining a state variable associated with at least one of
the attempt identifier and the account identifier. The statedetermining
module determines the state variable by incrementing
the state variable if the attempt identifier does not
match the account identifier and if the state variable is less
than a predetermined upper bound threshold, decrementing
the state variable if the attempt identifier does match the
account identifier and if the state variable is greater than a
predetermined lower bound threshold, and authenticating
the attempt identifier if the attempt identifier does match the
account identifier and if the state variable equals the predetermined
lower bound threshold.

Description
The present invention relates to a method of manufacture
of a memory matrix structure, and the structural
nature of a new memory matrix. More particularly, the
invention relates to an arrangement or array comprising
a set of horizontal conductors and a set of vertical conductors
arranged in a frame or matrix so as to form a
crosswork of wires. One or the other set of wires is
insulated by a coating of insulation, while the other set
of wires is bare. The sets of wires are in physical and
mechanical contact with each other, but due to the insulation
there is no electrical contact therebetween. The
matrix structure of the invention is such that the toroidal
magnet core or film so encircles the wires that at their
points of crossing the wires thread through the toroidal
film.

Description
An imaging or sensor system comprises a transmitter assembly,
a receiver assembly and a control unit. The transmitter
assembly defines an outgoing optical beam transmission path
with respect to a target surface and the receiver assembly
defines a return optical signal transmission path from the
target surface. Each of the paths includes transmission
through or reflection from at least one microdisplay device
comprising a plurality of controllable elements for selective
placement in a transmit mode for transmission of light along
the transmission paths. A control unit selectively places the
microdisplay device elements in the transmission mode.

Description
A scanner system. The system includes a mirror assembly
having multiple reflective surfaces arranged to form one
polygonal shape about an axis. A plurality of the multiple
surfaces are each positionable to reflect radiation propagating
from the source at a reflective angle and a position on the
reflective surface to direct the radiation along a transmit path.
When one reflective surface is so positioned, another surface
is positioned to receive and reflect radiation along a detector
signal path for processing. According to a related method for
acquiring image data a mirror assembly is provided with
multiple reflective surfaces sequentially arranged to form a
polygonal shape about an axis. A beam of radiation is
reflected from a first of the reflective surfaces and along a path
in a first direction to a target region and a return signal propagates
along the path in a second direction away from the target
region. A portion of the return signal is reflected from a
surface of a second of the reflective surfaces of the mirror
assembly and along a path to a detector.

Description
An integrated guardianship system. The system can include
a Clerk of the Court system for processing ward data and
guardianship data; a guardian background investigation system
communicatively linked to the Clerk of the Court
system over a computer communications network; and, at
least one database for storing ward, guardianship and background
data, wherein the ward, guardianship and background
data can be accessed by an authorized system
communicatively linked to the computer communications
network. Notably, the guardian background investigation
system can conduct background investigations of guardians
based on guardian data electronically provided by the Clerk
of the Court system over the computer communications
network. The background investigations, in turn, can produce
guardian background data. Finally, the guardian background
investigation system can electronically provide the
guardian background data to the Clerk of the Court system
over the computer communications network.
