This was prepared as the thesis required for the Master of Business
Administration degree. A direct mail questionnaire was used with selected
groups of local credit grantors to ascertain their credit granting procedures
and their delinquency and loss experience. Delinquency and loss
factors were utilized as the distinguishing criteria of credit problem
areas. Significant problems were found to exist in the areas of over
extension, non-availability of credit, and the delinquency and loss
factors of retail credit grantors.
