PATENT STATUS: Pending. A method for producing high levels of pseudopterosins without the need for harvesting coral from which pseudopterosins are traditionally obtained. Compositions comprising cultured alga cells produce high levels of pseudopterosin. Methods for producing pseudopterosins that include the steps of culturing algal cells under conditions that cause the cells to produce pseudopterosins and isolating the pseudopterosins so produced from the cells.
