Description
Coronavirus disease 2019, also known as the COVID-19, is the disease caused by severe acute
respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This disease is first identified in Wuhan,
China and has spread across the world causing a pandemic. With the majority of countries
shutting down and the infection spreading exponentially, countries raced to find safe and
effective vaccines. Nearly a year after the first confirmed case in the United States, vaccines
were ready to be administered. The three major vaccines in the United States were Pfizer-
BioNTech, Johnson and Johnson and the Moderna Vaccines. The Pfizer-BioNTech and the
Moderna required two doses whereas the Johnson and Johnson required only one dose. Vaccines
around the world were created and administered at an alarming rate, However, it is still
insufficient, as only 5% of the global population has been administered as of April 9, 2021
