Description
This thesis is a study of economic forecasting in a
regional context~ Its main concern is the exposition
of the models and the feasibility of the techniques,
rather than the actual forecast. The study should be
of interest to students of forecasting or regional
economics, or to planners interested in the region
examined. A shift-share model is presented as an
alternative to other regional forecasting techniques,
and an application of it is performed on a region
consisting of Broward and Dade Counties, Florida.
