Description
Unanimously approved and adopted at a general meeting of the Society in the city of Philadelphia, on Monday, the 10th of June, 1805. In 1805 the regular Republican party of Pennsylvania, after twice electing Thomas McKean as governor, dropped him in favor of Simon Snyder. A faction of the party known as Constitutional Republicans or "Quids" united with the Federalists and re-elected McKean again.
