Description
This thesis surveys equal employment opportunities in selected manufacturing
firms since the passage of Title VII of the 1964 Civil
Rights Act and its amendments. Companies who have government contracts
are now required by law to have written affirmative action programs
that outline positive steps in providing equal opportunities in employment
for minorities and women. Case studies of the five selected
firms are conducted by the author. These studies involve analyzing
and evaluating the affirmative action programs and indicating the
changes that have taken place in personnel policies and practices.
